The Legende
A text within a stream of time
In the times of the first things,
when the world was yet young
and people spoke in gentle voices,
there was seen a mouse of golden radiance.
She came forth from the twilight of time,
and no eye could behold her fully —
but only as a flash
between light and shadow.
She went from place to place
and was a quiet companion,
hearing and beholding without word.
She saw the joy and sorrow of humankind,
the strife and the peace of peoples,
and all she carried softly in her remembrance.
So this legend teaches that the Golden Mouse
is guardian of what was and what is,
but not of all that is yet to come.
For she goes onward, though she is seen no more,
and her trace fades
where time itself bears no name.
